TS PGLCET (Law)

The Telangana State Postgraduate Law Common Entrance Test, commonly abbreviated as TS PGLCET (Law), is a state-level entrance examination conducted annually by Osmania University on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). This examination serves as the gateway for aspiring law students seeking admission to postgraduate law programmes, specifically the 3-year and 5-year LLB courses, across various government and private law colleges in Telangana state. The TS PGLCET (Law) is designed to assess candidates' aptitude and knowledge in areas relevant to legal education, including general knowledge, mental ability, and current affairs. The examination is conducted in online mode (computer-based test) and attracts thousands of candidates annually from across Telangana and neighbouring states. Top participating institutes include University College of Law (Osmania University), Aurora's Legal Sciences Institute, Sultan-ul-Uloom College of Law, and various affiliated law colleges under Telangana state universities. The examination provides access to both 3-year LLB programmes (for graduates) and 5-year integrated BA LLB/BBA LLB/B.Com LLB programmes (for 10+2 qualified candidates). The total marks for the examination typically comprise 120 marks, with the exam duration being 90 minutes. Admission to various law colleges in Telangana is based on the rank secured in this entrance test, followed by a centralised counselling process conducted by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education.
